The usefulness of rigid polyurethane foam material

Rigid polyurethane foam is a low density polyurethane system commonly used in flame retardant parts and insulating panels. In some formulations, we use rigid foam for sole inserts and even helmet liners. Other common applications include photo frame backs, flower pots, tractor hoods and electronic enclosures.

 

About rigid polyurethane foam

Rigid polyurethane foam is usually a closed cell foam. It offers a variety of material and density options. Rigid PU products have excellent compressive strength and bearing quality. Furthermore, it has high tensile and low elongation properties.

We've seen polyurethane foam used in insulation, composites, automotive headliners and other liners, imitation wood products, boat fills, water board fills, and flotation devices.

 

Durable and rigid PU for heavy duty products

Rigid polyurethane foam typically contains a low density formulation similar to rigid PU foam. In many applications, such as fire helmet liners and insulation panels, our rigid products are made from flame retardant materials. Our unique chemical formula is consistent across all physical properties.

Rigid foam is also used in seafood manufacturing and ship repair practices. Mechanics prefer to use rigid PU foam for boat padding, mainly because of its ability to close cells, which means it doesn't absorb water.
