What are the characteristics and main uses of rigid polyurethane foam?
Rigid polyurethane foam is mostly closed-cell structure, which has excellent characteristics such as good heat preservation, light weight, high specific hardness and convenient construction. At the same time, they also have the characteristics of sound insulation, shock resistance, electrical insulation, heat resistance, cold resistance, solvent resistance and so on. Widely used in new energy vehicles, electronic equipment and cushioning for aerospace and rail vehicle interiors. A small amount is used for non-insulation occasions, such as imitation wood, packaging materials, etc. Generally speaking, rigid polyurethane foam with lower density is mainly used as thermal insulation (thermal insulation) material, and rigid polyurethane foam with higher density can be used as structural material (imitation wood). Rigid polyurethane foam is usually foamed at temperature, and the molding process is relatively simple. According to the degree of construction mechanization, it can be divided into manual foaming and mechanical foaming; according to the foaming pressure, it can be divided into high-pressure foaming and low-pressure foaming; according to the molding method, it can be divided into pouring foaming and coating foaming.
The main uses of rigid polyurethane foam are as follows:
1. Refrigeration and freezing equipment in food and other industries: such as freezers, freezers, cold storages, refrigerated trucks, etc., rigid polyurethane foam is the most ideal thermal insulation material for refrigeration and freezing. Freezing equipment.
2. Insulation of industrial equipment: such as gas tanks, pipes, etc.
3. Building materials: In developed countries in Europe and the United States, rigid polyurethane foam for construction accounts for about half of the total consumption of rigid foam, that is, the amount of rigid foam such as freezers and freezers has more than doubled; in my country, rigid foam is used in the construction industry. The application is not as common as in western developed countries, so the development potential is very large.
4. Transportation industry: such as car roof, interior parts, etc.
5. Imitation wood: high-density (density 300~700kg/m3) polyurethane rigid foam or glass fiber reinforced rigid foam is a structural foam plastic, also known as imitation wood, with high strength, good toughness, dense and firm skin, and simple molding process. High production efficiency, higher strength than natural wood, and lower density than natural wood. It can be used as a substitute for wood in various high-end products.
